Maximizing Recovery
Patients often require a combination of medical and rehabilitative treatment following surgery, an accident, or illness. These patients no longer require care in an acute care setting but still need medical care that is more intensive than that found in the home. The Transitional Care Unit was designed to fill this treatment gap. Patients at the TCU have the potential to improve quickly and be discharged home or to a less intensive setting. The average length of stay is 14 days. Patients who have been stabilized in an acute care hospital are excellent candidates for post acute care at the TCU at Hubbard where they receive the continued medical and therapeutic management they require to achieve maximum recovery. |
